Dan grew up in a small town in Southern California. At the age of 20, he spent a summer volunteering at a missionary hospital in Limbe, Haiti. This amazing experience ignited a desire to become a physician assistant. He was inspired by this collection of doctors, nurses, and physician assistants who came from all over the world as volunteers to share their medical skills with the ordinary people of this desperately difficult and impoverished country. Collectively they created a place of healing and hope.
Dan returned to Haiti at the conclusion of his PA training a few years later. Dan graduated from Alderson-Broaddus College in Phillippi, WV in 1988. Over the past 30 years, Dan has worked in rural southern West Virginia, along the Blueridge Mountains of North Carolina, and for the past 15 years working in the desert of Tucson, Arizona.
In 2018, Dan, his wife Beverly, and two sons Carter and Jonah moved to Georgia to be closer to family.
“I am so grateful to be affiliated with Decatur Pediatric Group. This practice of dedicated physicians and nurse practitioners reminds me of those compassionate people I knew in Haiti.” They give the best of themselves and set a high standard of selfless service and care to the benefit of the community.
