Dr. Melinda Willingham joined the Decatur Pediatric Group in November 2001. Dr. Willingham is from Silver Springs, Maryland, and has practiced medicine in the Atlanta area since 1998. Dr. Willingham is board certified and earned her Medical Degree from the Howard University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and went on to complete her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Children's Hospital of New Jersey. Dr. Willingham became a business partner with Dr. Wilson-Phillips in 2004.

Chapter Announces 2008 Award Winners:
The Georgia Chapter has selected recipients of its 2008 Awards. They are: Denmark Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael K. Levine, MD, Atlanta; Young Physician of the Year Award: Kathryn McLeod, MD, Augusta and Melinda Willingham, MD, Clarkston; Friend of Children Awards: Don Whitney, Mableton, philanthropist; VOICES for Georgia’s Children, a child advocacy agency; and Sarah Ashe, Waynesboro, early intervention teacher & advocate; Legislator of the Year, Rep. Judy Manning, Marietta; and Outstanding Achievement, Jay Berkelhamer, MD, Atlanta, past president, American Academy of Pediatrics. The awards will be presented at the Chapter’s Awards luncheon, on Friday, November 14 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Atlanta as part of the Fall Meeting, Pediatrics on the Parkway, November 13-15.
